HOMME EASE

I went to see THE CLOCK, the 24 hour Christian Marclay video at LACMA today and I was reminded of a couple of ground breaking gay/queer film makers that had a huge impact on my development in h.s. as a gay.  growing up seeing west hollywood it was difficult to identify with the gay community there- but watching gus van sant, jim jarmusch, and todd solondz films gave me hope that there were people like myself that saw the world the way i did.  still not sure how it is i see the world.  i’m not sure how exactly that is but off the cuff i’d say that in life i am disappointedly optimistic.

The idea of doing a review series and/or interviews with different queer film makers as well as musicians would be pretty great.  Potentially doing an interview with one successful gay (whether it be writer, band/musician, film maker, actor, artist) a month to accompany that months calendar would be rad.  Stop me if i’m getting ahead of myself.

……i’m realizing that my list and agenda is predominantly male.  should we be lgbtq or just homo centric? i’ll stop and allow you both to respond to all the shit i’ve spewed.
